Is World Ventures a scam?
I’m writing this blog post to set the record straight on “Is World Ventures a scam?” – once and for all. But I’m going to do far more then just that.
You see, knowing World Ventures scam information in and of itself is NOT very valuable. That is not going to help you solve money problems, reach financial abundance, or anything like that…
It’s only going to tell you some information on World Ventures. But if I’m going to be very blunt… information on world ventures isn’t the most important thing you really need if you’re researching a company in the home business industry.
But before we start talking about the REAL knowledge any Modern Day entrepreneur needs to be highly successful… I’ll share with you what I know from over 4+ years of experience being a #1 money earner in this industry about world ventures.
You’re going to get a true World Ventures review, and can know without a doubt this company isn’t a scam. And frankly… I’m not saying this from a biased perspective of actually being a world ventures distributor.
I’m not even in the company.
I’m saying this from the perspective of having earned millions of dollars IN the home business industry, and having been a part of almost 6 companies in the last few years, and known top producers all across the industry.
The fact of the matter is, most people are VERY uneducated about what the home business industry really is. They have vague notions of “pyramid schemes”, or “ponzi’s”, or these other negative words that realistically ONLY apply to illegal operations which are ALL busted within months of opening.
The rest of the THOUSANDS of companies existing in the home business industry are all 100% VIABLE, POWERFUL, and legitimate ways for an mlm company to get its product to the market place, via independent distributors.
But what’s far more powerful about our industry, is that the income potential of being a LEADER in a network marketing company is like almost nothing else existing on our planet. Especially in hard times like we are in.
So when you see World Ventures complaints…
most of them are from uneducated people, who really don’t understand the industry.
The fact of the matter is, world ventures is no different then the thousands of other companies across the home business industry. And when you are deciding which company to join… you need to think about your PASSIONS, and what it is you really want to promote.
The best thing about our industry is you get to PICK something you’re passionate about, and build a sales organization around that. It’s not very often you get the chance to do that.
World Ventures compensation plan is based around rewarding distributors for signing up new partners in their organization, and retailing travel sales. Frankly, it’s not a new thing. There are dozens of other companies in our industry that revolve around the travel industry, because it’s a huge industry, and big business.
Many of them have been extremely successful. If you ‘re passionate about travel, then world ventures might be an AWESOME fit for you. You’ll make money from the World Ventures Comp Plan the most through building an organization… as that’s where the LARGEST volume really lies.
It’s very difficult for one person to sell enough of a product as just ONE PERSON to really make much money in this industry. The power comes in when you know how to BUILD A TEAM, and can co create with thousands of other people… have tap into the income they are ALL producing.
That’s when you can hit $50,000+ monthly realistically…
…in a compensation plan like world ventures provides.
I have done this MULTIPLE times in this industry, and am currently one of the top income earners in my company. When I tell you it’s VERY REAL, I’m not kidding.
The home business industry provides a REAL way for an average person to create massive wealth. But I have a warning for you…
It’s NEVER going to be as easy as World Ventures makes it sound on leadership and conference calls. And frankly… I did NOT create the success I have in this industry by listening to a lot of the traditional tactics.
The traditional tactics they will try to get anyone to use when building a world ventures business, is to contact friends and family, approach your warm network, all sorts of things like that.
In my experience, not only has that been awkward and not enjoyable… but it’s been extremely ineffective as well. That’s why when I coach people who are World Ventures distributors on how to be successful in their businesses… I teach them FIRST AND FOREMOST how to become an entrepreneur.
And being a world class entrepreneur in this day and age… means you are KNOWLEDGABLE about how to market yourself, your business, and create RESULTS on a daily basis.
It’s not enough to sit around and wait for success to come to you. If you want great success in your lifetime, you have to GO AFTER IT. The best piece of world ventures training I can give you is this…
LEARN HOW TO MARKET YOURSELF FIRST.
When you know the tangible action steps to take each day, to generate your own leads, to have people MOVING through a marketing funnel… its’ like you can produce endless profit for any business you are in.
In our day and age, the Internet makes this easier then EVER. You can use the Internet to tap into literally millions of prospects who are out there right now, looking for information on businesses the SAME way you are.
And when you know how to put YOUR MESSAGE in front of them, you can build HUGE organizations in World Ventures.
I know, because I have many clients in world ventures who are doing this… and it is bar none, one of the most EFFECTIVE ways to generate massive cash flow for your business there is. If you’re interested in learning more about that, you can go here: World Ventures Training Secrets
All in all, the keys to success in this industry don’t lie in what company you are promoting. They lie in your ABILITY to promote that company.
Big difference.
And the entrepreneurs who understand how to do the latter are the ones who make the most money in this industry. If you want that advantage for your world ventures business, or just to have as a skill in LIFE… then I suggest you check out the MLM Training section on this blog.
There’s tons of knowledge I’ve gleamed over the last few years as I’ve made millions in this industry that I’m giving away and sharing with you for free. Hope you enjoy it!
And happy marketing in World Ventures.
Yours In Success,
Jonathan Budd
Hey Jonathan,
Keep up the GREAT work and empowering people to learn how to properly grow WorldVentures, as well as any other company the RIGHT way. I really appreciate what you teach and have implemented much of it in my business, resulting in great success.
To YOUR Ultimate Success My Friend!
WorldVentures is not a scam. Infact they are by far the best travel mlm out there (in my opinion), but after almost four years with the company I can say this… It has one of THE worst compensation plans in the industry.
They barely mention that in their binary you have to have a minimum of 180 people (90 on the left lag, 90 on the right leg) in your organization BEFORE you earn a single penny residually, but they stress the idea of earning a residual income for a better way of life. There is just one problem with that, and that is that they make it more difficult to earn residual income than any other company I have seen or been involved with.
There is a rerason why they implemented the 90/90 rule into the binary and that reason is two words…”shaved checks”. What caused WorldVentures to put the 90/90 rule into affect was that top earners like Steve Little, Byron Schrag, Troy Brown, et al were maxing out the comp plan and having their checks shaved. To avoid this and risk the whales from bolting to another company with their thousands of followers WV instead decided to take the money from the little man and give it to the big hitters to keep them happy and in the company. This is how the company kept the big hitters happy and didn’t have to pay out more to them. They simply made it harder for the average person to earn anything residually while the big boys get their full check.
If you will search you will finf that the average person brings in 2-3 people total in their MLM career, knowing that this is the case WV simply knows that they actually will be only paying very few people each month because the way it works. As for me, I personally sponsorded 20 people into WorldVentures and NEVER made a residual income from the company. It is what it is, I am not calling WV a scam because they do have value in the DreamTrips membership, but if you are looking at trying to build an income through WV and MLM look at other comp plans and compare them, you will see that WV’s comp plain truly makes it difficult to earn money.
I have to disagree with the statement that you cannot make money and only the “whales” in WV can. Dr. David Pietch was recruited 18 months after the company was started by Dave Watson. He was thousands below in the downline and through hard work and determination built a team of thousands and is now the #5 income earner.
Recruiting only 20 people and you are saying boo hoo I didn’t make money. I’m sorry but I have to call BS. The pay plan was laid out in front. It takes 180 people to build a solid foundation and then you start the residual income. It would be the same as an insurance agent saying I got 20 clients but my business isn’t booming. As the pay plan states. It takes 180 not 20. Also the compesation plan is quite stout. They pay out to 65% of total compensation. 65%!!! are you kidding me? If you were to own any busines or have a JOB working for a company…do you think you would get 65%. Heck no. 11% to 35% net net net is a in line ratio to remain in business.
The other fact that you didn’t mention about the binary plan is that you get spill over from your upline mentor that signed you up. So in reality if the right person gets in then boom your leg could explode or not. But it’s not his or her responsibility to make you successful. It’s yours.
I am brand new in the MLM world. But after an 18 yrs in the car business with no residual income and selling thousands of cars, investing millions into my dealership and the headaches associated with owning a company. I sold thousands of cars and never ever got a residual income from Toyota. This is a no brainer.
It takes hard work, drive and determination and becoming a “student” of what ever industry you are in to be successful. If it were easy to become “rich” everyone would be.
Cheers,
Mike
First of all, someone who writes on the blog without having the guts to put a real name should not be considered as a valid genuine poster and probably is a member of a competitive company of world ventures or other mlm company.
My name is Nicholas Neophytou from Cyprus, and I have been a member of World ventures for a little over 5 months. I joined world ventures initially for the product since I immediately saw it was a win win situation. For $199 once off and a small monthly fee of 49,95 I took a trip to Intercontinental resort for 2 days and 3 days for 49.95 (for the entire trip). In my first week after joining a introduced the company to 7 friends and I immediately took 590 dollars.
For about two months I didn’t do anything because I was engaged fully to my full-time job. During that time while I was doing other things I got another 8 people under my team coming from the people I introduced. I received another 400 dollars on my debit card.
That was a wake-up call for me and after I realized the prospect and where world ventures can take I am doing world ventures full-time and full time as a part-time. Today I have 382 people under my team, I am earning about 1000 every week and this is nothing compared to what I could have been making if I didn’t waste those 2 months because I lost my belief. The anonymous ‘Scot’ has no clue about the company and probably (if he is a member at all) he is clueless of how that company works, since the first time i heard the presentation, they very loudly said that when you have 90 on the left lag, and 90 on the right leg of your organization you earn a monthly residual of about 1500 dollars.
World ventures is for real, it has changed many lives including my own and I will be for ever thankful to the person who introduced me to the company. Nakis, thanks mate.
Great feedback scott.. Thanks i was considering WV after all the hype, however it is good to hear the reality also..
Thanks
if you think World Ventures is good. You aint seen nothing yet.
I love the way you tell your story.. I’ve been preaching this for months to my employees and my downlines. Great article.
Best line(s):

First, I admit that I am not a “network marketer”. I have not been in numerous companies, and i don’t get excited by the “next big thing”. I was introduced to this form of marketing 13 years ago, the week that I graduated from West Point, and I believe that experience laid the foundation for every success that I have had since then. I attribute more of my success to that experience than my West Point degrees, my MBA, and Georgetown University financial planning studies.
I learned about WorldVentures in September 2007, and I told the ladies that introduced me to the company that I was not interested in the business, but “how much is it” (i.e. products and to be a representative)? At the time, it was $400 one-time and $40 per month. I projected a first year expense of $880 -Sept.’07-’08. I knew I had $880 in business income, so I bought into the travel company as a way to reduce my taxable income, dollar for dollar. No different than buying a computer. Now for the first product. Earlier this year, our search engine, Rovia, outperformed Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz in finding the lowest fare 68% of the time. This was an independent study by Topaz International. I used the my booking engine to book my travel from Sept-Dec.’07, and I saved $1000. The fact is this was a smart financial decision independent of the compensation plan. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why everyone, especially homeowners and business owners, should join our team. It just makes sense. In fact, dollars and sense.
As for the business building, I strongly recommend that you evaluate WV in the same manner that you’d evaluate a franchise or a start up. The truth is you can sell our flagship product, Dream Trips Membership, and make money. Our product is strong and you can have a successful sales career without recruiting. That’s why we have the B2B program. It allows guys like me to approach companies and offer our product as a corporate benefit. I think one major problem within this business context is the number of people that think that success should be measured by how many people you recruit. WE DO NOT GET PAID BECAUSE SOMEONE JOINS OUR BUSINESS. We get paid because we sell products and we get paid from additional products sold throughout our organization. What did you take away from the fact that Scott “personally sponsored 20″ and did not receive residual income?
Maybe Scott recruited versus sponsored 20. The key to success in WV and any company is focusing on serving others. It’s about helping lots of people get what they want and as a natural consequence, you will get what you want. When I sponsor you, I have a vested interest in leading you and helping you to achieve your stated objectives. I believe that if any sponsors 45 people that attend an Acceleration Training and go on a Dream Trip, then they will achieve the rank of Director in order to earn residual income. Why? Because if 45 people refer four people to our Dream Trips Membership and they sign-up, then their monthly fees are waived. 45 x 4 = 180 customers = Director = residual income. Also, the people that attend Acceleration Training earn 5 times more than those that do not. Also, we have a 98% retention rate over nearly 4 years of members that take a Dream Trip. In our business and in life, it’s simple. Be excited, Pay attention, Never Quit —-definitely not at 20.
I do not think that WV’s compensation plan makes it difficult to earn money. Nearly 30% of the people in our business earn a check. We have a simple plan that anyone can follow to achieve Director within 120 days. The average director pay was around $1500/month last year or $18,000. That’s equivalent to having $600,000 in a bank CD paying 3% interest. Maybe, just maybe, if you focus on selling the products and as you do so, sponsor people that have a definitive goal that they are committed to achieving, then you will have the opportunity to receive thank you checks from WV for directly impacting their bottom line -month after month after month. Yet, even if you never find anyone else that wants to build a business, you have NO EXCUSE for not achieving your desires considering you can always go sell another product.
I encourage you to contact me if you are ready to pursue and achieve your passion whatever that may be.
Be Blessed,

I recently joined a team with WV! I see the concept, I feel the concept and I am excited by the concept. I have been able to bring prospects to meetings to get the visual effect, but it seems that I hit a brick wall if they don’t get it right then.
I keep hearing things about other scam companies and my favorite which has been said to me twice now is I am dedicated 100% to xyz, which to me is a lame excuse. It seemed to me that they were almost coached to say that if approached by others.
I really feel I am in a good market and have the skills to be successful, maybe I need a little direction.
Any advise for me?
Girl get yourself to an Acceleration training, and talk with your upline.
This WV company is great…
I am a college student and a World Ventures member. WV doesn’t “recruit” simply because they realize that most companies that do that often fail and ends in legal complications. WV is completely legitimate. I earned my money back in the first month, and I’m an out-of-state student. Less than two months ago I started and I now have 40+ people on my team all of which I work with. It’s nice to know there’s a company out there like WV where the person below you can make 10, 100, 1000, 10000 times what the person above them can make. The three websites they give you are absolutely phenomenal. They are sharp and very organized. WV isn’t just better, it’s different.
Hi, I am a UTA student and Last week when I was in the mall, an unknown lady approached towards me and asked me whether I liked to travel if I got tickets at highly discounted price. I replied that I would if it was under my budget. After a general introduction she handed me her business card and said that if I would be interested in getting tickets at wholesale price and also make money out of it. She offered me to attend a meeting in Plano, TX on tuesday (10/27/09). I was excited as well as confused recalling the conversation. I have never attended any meetings besides group meetings related to class. Later, when I tried to google about the company, I was quiet surprised to read about the opposing viewpoints. Some questioned about the legality issues and existence of the company whereas some shared their good experiences with the company.
On October 27th, I went with my cousin at the office of World Ventures Marketing located at 5360 legacy de, building 1, suite 300, Plano, TX, 76053. I reached there at 8pm since the meeting was held at that time. As soon as, I reached the room, the lady was right there and was waiting for me to arrive. As I entered the room, there were a group of people wearing formal suits and some in casual outfits ready to conduct and participate in the meeting. I was happy to be a part of the team and ready to experience completely different environment. The room was occupied with people having innovative thoughts and full of enthusiasm closely attached with the organization. The speaker gave a brief introduction about the company and tried to convince the newcomers that the company is at a booming stage and those people who started the business would profit a lot after joining the company. He mentioned about the three different kinds of deals that could be offered which are DREAM TRIPS MEMBERSHIP (199.95+24.99/MONTH), LTC PACKAGE 199.99+24.99/MONTH and LIMITED TIME 2-FOR-1 PROMOTION 199.99+49.98/MONTH. It was very interesting to learn about such deals for traveling. The lady who invited me over to the meeting seemed highly passionate and dedicated towards the company and its products. After the main speaker finished his speech, she started speaking on the same topic and ideas which the previous speaker had mentioned earlier. I was enthralled hearing them speak and the ideas was very motivational and interesting. The main focus of the company was to provide good deals in air trips by which you will have to sell it to others and gain profit. After, being a part of a meeting I felt that the company is not fraud and guarantees 100% success once you are a part of their team. Since we know none of the business is 100% successful, hard work is equally important to make money from the business. They have set up the platform to those people who are interested to jumpstart their World Venture business, but it totally depends on the individual to run the business and make the most out of it. If any individual followed the company’s guidelines, they will certainly enjoy the benefits. And, if you are not able to follow the procedure, it could lead to failure and might not seem a reasonable way to invest your money and time for the future earnings.
I AM INTERESTED IN JOINING THIS MONEY MAKING COMPANY, CAN U PLEASE SEND ME OR TELL ME WHAT IS WANTED FROM ME TO BE A MEMBER.
I WOULD LIKE TO TOUR THE WORLD ON DAY, I HAVE NEVER TRAVELED I AM ALWAYS CONFINED IN MY CONTRY BOTSWANA MAYBE THIS WILL MAKE DIFFRENCE,PLEASE SEND ME WHAT CAN I DO I WANT TO JOIN YOUR COMPONY.
I have read many of the comments and blogs in re:World Ventures Travel.I have attended a WVT seminar, perused the online product, attended a WVT ‘party’hosted by a WVT rep.One question remains-where does WVT get the travel pkgs/trips/excursions from?If/when a problem occurs with the travel portion,to whom does the client refer to resolve issue? The product,in a mlm company should be important;yet, there is Great emphasis on recruiting.Mathematically,30% is not good for the 70% who aren’t making it!

Hello Johnathan,
First off, I would like to congratulate you on such an elaborate article that you wrote . The concept of the multi level marketing has been there from decades. I and my family members are involved in many such businesses also but the bottomline must always be that the scope of a scam in these schemes is always more than then the percentage of a scheme that is genuine in terms of monetory gain that is. The muilti-level-marketing has yet to find ways to cure the loopholes that are still present in the system. There has to be some regulatory authority and certification programs in my view that do justice to businesses like that.
But.
The World Ventures is a genuine game altogether. This platform has a very scope of putting your knowledge and hard-work to gain fruits. The firm, as I’ve heard about all over the net as I’m an avid reviewer of such sites, is really genuine and the payouts have been frequent and a non-hiccup services by the firms are praised all over. The points that have been laid out in the article are very accurate and also helps in clearing any air over the genuinity of the type of business.
