I have worked with several MLM products in my time and more than a fair share of them have been labeled a scam. Well, honestly I’d wager every MLM product has been labeled a scam. Some of these accusations have more basis than others. In this article we’ll be looking at the alleged Xocai scam.
I want to start out by saying that customer dissatisfaction does not mean there is a scam. While I might understand why people claim that some Xocai products are “low carb” or “low fat” this is still an accurate claim about some of their product line. Whether people think Xocai’s high antioxidant chocolate is worth the cost of Xocai is irrelevant. These types of objections cannot be considered evidence of a Xocai scam.
Most MLM scam accusations, including those in reference to a Xocai scam, complain about false and misleading advertising. These complaints are usually lodged against the product, the business opportunity, or both.
First let us see if the Xocai scam is false advertising about the product. While nobody likes to recognize qualifiers in advertising copy they are not new and the convenient use of the word “may” in Xocai’s corporate claims allows them lots of wiggle room. That being said the chocolates do have relatively high levels of antioxidants which do have various proven health benefits.

So then is the business opportunity the Xocai scam? That would entirely depend on how you define it. Like any other multilevel marketing businesses recruits are told about the vast fortune that they could possibly make, and they are told that anybody including them can succeed, but with so many people not finding success, are these claims true? Yes. Something very important to take a look at with Xocai is their Back Office. This stands relevant to the issue of the viability of this company.
It is true that a MLM business can eventually generate very high incomes. What you may not hear about as often in a recruitment speech is how much work it really takes to grow your MLM business to that point. With enough work on the part of the distributor a MLM business can grow to a point where it supports its owner with almost no supervision but it does not happen without a proper effort.
Then there is the “everyman” myth as I call it. Recruitment speeches usually emphasize that anybody can succeed. What they do not usually mention is that anybody can succeed if they know how to market well. Anybody can succeed assuming they have the requisite knowledge.
Most people who make claims of a “Xocai scam” have tried their hands as distributors but not found success. While it is unfortunate that they did not succeed, the internet now makes it possible for anybody to educate their self about marketing, enabling them the ability to succeed at any MLM business.

I agree that any MLM can be thought of as a scam if you aren’t aware of the work it takes to get to the levels that many sponsoring the meetings have reached. They often make it sound easy, when in fact, it’s not. It takes time and patience! You have to treat it like a business if you want to reap the financial rewards of a business.
MLM marketing can be prosperous, but you need to be careful when you decide to market any product that you are excited about. Putting too much pressure on people about the products you promote or the financial rewards you expect to have can drive away friends and family it’s all you can talk about. Let those people that you are close to know what you are doing, and if they are interested they will ask you more about it. The financial gain of MLM is not worth losing friends over!
Sorry to go on and on. Hubby and I just recently started w/Xocai and love it! We’ve had a few people coming to us with questions after just a few weeks and have signed on two below us already… that said, we’ve not been pushy. Simply sharing our stories of how it’s changing our health and that of our families has been enough to get people interested.
